Memory Cafe

The Memory Cafe is a free social event where people with dementia and those who care about them come together in a safe and engaging environment. Each memory cafe gathering includes interesting and fun activities, food, music, and information about resources available in the community. Click here for more information about the Purple Angel Memory Cafe.

Sing Along with Margaret

“Sing Along with Margaret” is a special project that brings meaningful music to people with Alzheimer’s disease and advanced dementia. Doug Seubert, a music and activity specialist, facilitates both group and individual musical interventions in local care facilities as well as in private homes. He also produced a CD and downloadable mp3 files of well-known sing-a-long favorites. Click here for more information about "Sing Along with Margaret" and other music therapy programs.

Purple Angel Campaign

The purpose of the Purple Angel Campaign is to raise awareness about dementia and to provide training for businesses, service providers, and community organizations on how to not only recognize the signs of dementia, but to improve services for people with dementia and their caregivers. Businesses and organizations who are interested in being designated as dementia-friendly sign a pledge, participate in a free 30-minute training session, and agree to partner with us to make Marshfield a dementia-friendly community. Click here for more information about the Purple Angel Campaign and to sign up for dementia-friendly business training

Dementia-Friendly Marshfield

A dementia-friendly community is a place where people living with dementia are supported to live a high quality of life with meaning, purpose and value. The Wisconsin Department of Health Services is promoting this initiative as part of the Wisconsin Dementia Care System Redesign. Marshfield Area Purple Angels has committed to lead this initiative in Marshfield. Click here to learn more about Dementia-Friendly Marshfield and how you can get involved.

Margie's House

Marshfield Area Purple Angels offers free respite care on evenings and weekends. Anyone with dementia or memory loss can stay with trained care providers in a safe, comfortable, home setting. This allows family caregivers to get a break, to rest, to run errands, or meet with friends. “Margie’s House” is scheduled to open November 2016. Contact us for more information about our respite care program.

Purple Angel P.A.L.S.

The Purple Angel P.A.L.S. program provides personalized attention, love and support to an individual with Alzheimer's disease or another form of dementia. Trained purple angel volunteers get to know each person as a unique individual, and activities and interactions are specific to the preferences, interests, and abilities of each person in the program. By doing this, we are able to provide meaningful, personalized support that values the uniqueness of each person, looking past the disease of dementia and appreciating where each person is on their individualjourney. Click here for more information about Purple Angel P.A.L.S.

Purple Angel Support Team (PAST)

Marshfield Area Purple Angels offers free caregiving classes, workshops, and support groups for family caregivers. We also provide education programs for the community. Contact us for more information about our caregiver support programs.

Share the Care

Share the Care is a unique care model that offers communities another solution for providing care (by personal, volunteer networks) to meet the increasing demand for informal caregivers. We are working with Greater Wisconsin Agency on Aging Resources to begin this initiative in the Marshfield area. Click here to learn more about Share the Care.

Home Care Aware

The Purple Angel "home care aware" program educates individuals and families about the benefits for people with Alzheimer's disease or other forms of dementia who are given the opportunity to remain living at home. The program provides information about available resources, helps family members prepare for their roles as caregivers, coordinates assessments, home inspections and safety evaluations, and provides families with the tools and support they need to make informed decisions. Please click here for more information about our Home Care Aware program.

End of Life Survival Guide

Doug Seubert created this blog to share his experience and provide tips, resources, and ideas to others who are caring for a loved one near the end of life. The blog covers topics about caregiving, changing roles, important legal and ethical concerns, as well as advice to help caregivers and their families — as well as those they love and care for — survive during the most difficult time in a person’s life.  Click here for more information about the End of Life Survival Guide.

We are proud to have affiliations with these national organizations who are leaders in dementia research, care and support.
